حينما قررت المشاركة في السيمنار العلمي بالصين، كنت أتوقع مستوى جيدًا من التنظيم والمحتوى، لكن ما وجدته تجاوز كل التوقعات. كانت الأكاديمية المضيفة مثالًا حيًا للمؤسسة العلمية التي تجمع بين الجدية والانفتاح، وبين الرصانة الأكاديمية والبعد الإنساني.
تنظيم أكاديمي على أعلى مستوى
منذ اليوم الأول، تميز البرنامج بدقة في الترتيب وتنويع في الموضوعات. تم توزيع الجلسات بطريقة تتيح للمشاركين التفاعل مع أكبر عدد ممكن من المحاضرين، والتعمق في مجالات بحثية متنوعة، دون شعور بالإرهاق أو التكرار.
المحاضرات كانت ثرية، وألقاها أساتذة وباحثون من الصف الأول، بعضهم يحمل أسماء معروفة في أوساط البحث العلمي، والبعض الآخر كان من جيل الشباب الواعد الذي قدم رؤى مبتكرة ومقاربات حديثة.
مضامين المحاضرات: علمٌ ومعرفة وتطبيق
تناولت المحاضرات موضوعات متنوعة تتعلق بتخصصنا العلمي، ولكن اللافت هو الربط المستمر بين النظرية والتطبيق، بين الإطار الأكاديمي واحتياجات المجتمع، وهو ما يعكس رؤية عميقة لدور الباحث في خدمة الواقع لم تكن المحاضرات مجرد عرض للمعلومات، بل كانت فضاءً للحوار، وتبادل الآراء، ومناقشة الأفكار، وهو ما أضفى عليها طابعًا تفاعليا وحيويا.
حوار أكاديمي شيق.
كان لي الشرف أن أدخل في حوار علمي مع عالم الآثار الصيني الكبير دكتور تونج تاو عقب محاضرته بعنوان “طريق الحرير عبر جبال الهيمالايا” وكان سيادته قد ألقى محاضرة ثرية للغاية عن أحدث الإكتشافات الآثارية بالصين وقد كان الحوار حول قضية علمية خلافية تتعلق بأقنعة وجوه مكتشفة حديثاً تسمى “أقنعة الموت” وقد قارنها سيادته بأقنعة من الفن المصري القديم والإغريقي وكانت نقطة خلافي هو أنني طرحت وجهة نظري في أن هذه الاقنعة ترتبط أكثر ليس بالفنين المصري القديم ولا الإغريقي بل هي أقرب إلى المعتقدات الشامانية المنتشرة في منغوليا وأسيا الوسطى والتبت وأن فكرة الأقنعة أصيلة في تلك المعتقدات والممارسات بين الشامانات ولها أيضاً دور اسكاتولوجي أخروي في العصور التركية القديمة, وأردفت انه حتى في التبت نفسها كانت ديانة البون وهي ذات جذور شامانية تفسح مجالاً لفكرة الأقنعة بل أن الفكرة الشامانية نفسها قد تكون هي المؤثرة أساساً في الفنون الكبيرة مثل الفن المصري القديم والفن الإغريقي وقد أعجب الدكتور تونج بهذا الطرح أيما إعجاب بل وافقني فيه وأوضح لي أسباب معينة لعدم التطرق لذلك وقد كانت محادثة مثمرة تشرفت فيها بالحوار مع تلك القامة العلمية الكبيرة.
فرص التبادل الثقافي والفكري
ما أضفى على التجربة عمقًا خاصًا هو المزج بين العلم والثقافة. فخلال فترات الاستراحة والنشاطات الجانبية، كنا نلتقي بباحثين من دول مختلفة، ونتبادل الحديث عن تجاربنا، ومناهجنا البحثية، وتحدياتنا الأكاديمية لقد شعرت، في أكثر من لحظة، أنني لا أشارك فقط في سيمنار، بل في حوار حضاري ممتد، يؤسس لجسور فكرية وثقافية بين الشرق والغرب. My Journey to China Series: The Academic Dimension: A Distinguished Institution and a Rich Cultural Exchange (2) by Dr. Mohamed Shabana, Egyptian Archaeologist.
When I decided to attend the scientific seminar in China, I expected a well-organized and content-rich event. Yet, what I experienced far exceeded those expectations. The host institution was a living model of an academic body that combines seriousness with openness, and scholarly rigor with a human touch.
Top-Level Academic Organization
From the very first day, the seminar program stood out for its precise planning and diversity of topics. Sessions were arranged in a way that allowed participants to engage with as many speakers as possible and dive deep into a variety of research areas—without feeling overwhelmed or repetitive.
The lectures were rich and presented by top-tier professors and researchers—some of whom were prominent names in the field, while others were promising young scholars bringing fresh perspectives and innovative approaches.
Lecture Content: Knowledge, Science, and Real-World Application
The lectures covered a wide range of topics relevant to our field. What stood out most was the consistent connection between theory and practice—linking academic frameworks to real-world needs. It reflected a deep understanding of the researcher’s role in serving society.
These were not mere presentations of information; they were platforms for dialogue, exchange, and critical thought—making the sessions lively and intellectually stimulating.
Interesting Academic Dialogue.
I had the honor of engaging in a scientific dialogue with the esteemed Chinese archaeologist Dr. Tong Tao This took place following his lecture titled “The Silk Road across the Himalayas,” Dr. Tong presented a highly enriching lecture on the latest archaeological discoveries in China. Our discussion revolved around a contentious scientific issue concerning recently discovered facial masks referred to as “death masks.” He compared these masks to those from ancient Egyptian and Greek art. My point of contention was that I expressed my view that these masks are more closely related not to ancient Egyptian or Greek art, but rather to the shamanistic beliefs prevalent in Mongolia, Central Asia, and Tibet. I argued that the concept of masks is intrinsic to these beliefs and practices among shamans and also has an eschatological role in ancient Turkic times. I further noted that even in Tibet itself, the Bon religion, which has shamanistic roots, accommodates the idea of masks. In fact, the shamanistic concept itself may have fundamentally influenced major arts such as ancient Egyptian and Greek art Dr. Tong was highly impressed by this perspective and even agreed with me, explaining certain reasons for not addressing this topic. It was a fruitful conversation in which I was honored to engage with such a distinguished scientific figure.
Opportunities for Cultural and Intellectual Exchange
What added a unique depth to the experience was the blend of science and culture. During breaks and informal gatherings, we met scholars from various countries, sharing our academic experiences, research methodologies, and institutional challenges.
